About us

Wretched Flowers is the design studio of husband-wife duo Loney Abrams and Johnny Stanish. After collaborating in various capacities for over a decade, Abrams and Stanish launched Wretched Flowers in 2024.

Serving primarily interior designers and architects, the studio works on commission to develop bespoke pieces designed to be lasting and timeless. Each piece is crafted in Western Connecticut.

About the collection

Each piece in the ARTIFACT collections is inspired by a significant historical work from a museum archive.

In our beaded chainmail lighting and tapestry pieces (patents pending), we reinterpret the ruggedness of medieval armor by pairing it with the delicate charm of American folk art. Stainless steel chainmail, woven in the traditional European 4-in- 1 pattern originating in 400 BCE, is adorned with gemstone beads in floral motifs. These patterns are sourced from historic tapestry templates, blending masculine and feminine craftsmanship for a truly unique aesthetic.

Our Crown of Thorns lamps, mirrors, and sconces are made from hundreds of interlocking pieces of laser-cut metal. This puzzle-like joinery technique comes from Tramp Art, a Depression-era woodworking style pioneered by traveling workmen. We’ve revived the lost art using steel or brass in place of wood, which we assemble piece by piece in our studio in Connecticut.
